  • Launching the Pilot Project „Consecutive Main Hearings”

The Pilot Project “Consecutive Main Hearings” was launched on the 26th of January 2010.

This Project was proposed by the Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisors (NORLAM) and aims at reducing the length of Court proceedings, diminishing the workload of the judges through more efficient organisation of court hearings.  The consecutive main hearings provide for a continuous examination of cases.

In order to guide the implementation of this project, a working group was created consisting of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, NORLAM advisers, representatives of the Ministry of Justice. This group shall elaborate methodical recommendations and guidelines for the implementation of consecutive court hearings, first as a pilot project in the Buiucani Court.

At the same time, the working group will monitor and evaluate project’s results by working out proposals for its adjustment and eventual extension of the project to other courts.

The Department of judicial administration will be the coordintor of the Project, while NORLAM will provide the neccesary assistance.

More information about the Consecutive main hearings can be found in the Documents category .
